SuperPI
calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching
benchmark. The benchmark is fairly diverse and allows the user to change the
number of digits of PI that can be calculated from 16 Thousand to 32 Million.
The benchmark, which uses 19 iterations in the test, is set 1 Million digits.
Lower calculation times are better. SuperPi is not multi-threaded..

SuperPi is an older, non-multithreaded benchmark but
still a fun one to throw at new processors.
Although the Athlon II X4 645 is clocked at an impressive
3.1GHz, this single-threaded benchmark only takes advantage of 1/4 of the CPUs'
capabilities. The AII X4 645 manages to calculate Pi to 16 million digits in
just over 627 seconds, while the quad core Intel Core i5 750 does the same task
in significantly quicker 414 seconds.
