Bibble 5 is a multi-threaded photographic workflow
application that can be used to demonstrate the ability to scale work load
across 4, 8, 16 or more processor cores. The basic process we will use for
benchmarking is to convert a batch of 50 RAW image files from a digital SLR
camera from their original RAW format to JPEG's at full resolution, using the
applications default image settings.
Lower results are best.

Bibble 5 is a photo-editing program for illustrating the
everyday benefits of multi-core processors. With the AMD Phenom II X4 975 Black
Edition in the drivers seat, processing time to convert 50 RAW image files to
JPEG format is 16.3 seconds, at a rate of 0.326 seconds per image.
Intel's Core i7 920 and AMD's Phenom II X6 processors
are predictably faster. Benchmark results for POV-Ray, another rendering
benchmark, are next.
