At
PCSTATS we like
integrated graphics motherboards that come with a full compliment of video
outputs, not just DVI or Analog. Too many times I've tried to upgrade a Dell
PC with a second monitor, only to discover the PC doesn't even
have the right video jack available! AArgh, makes you hate Dell!
With the
Biostar TH67XE motherboard you have a fantastic choice of HDMI, Display
Port, DVI-D and Analog VGA video outputs to choose from! Any two of the
four video outputs can be used at the same time to take advantage of the Intel
HD 3000 integrated graphic core made available by the Intel H67 chipset. To be
clear, the most this motherboard will support dual monitors, but
not triple or quad monitors.
The HDMI and Display Port video outputs support
resolutions of 1920x1200. The DVI-D port goes to 1920x1200 (WUXGA)
while the Analog VGA supports 2560x1600.
The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port provides an all-digital
audio/video interface to transmit uncompressed HDCP compliant signals and
THX (TruStudio Pro) Technology for true studio audio experience.

The Biostar TH67XE motherboard features one PCI Express
2.0 x16 slot for graphics card upgrades. It will run a single videocard in x16 mode. The remaining
expansion slots on this mATX board include one PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot and
a legacy PCI slot. A single dual-slot wide videocard will only block the
first PCIEx1 slot. The red (physical PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot) runs at x1
mode according to Biostar.
Along the bottom edge of the Biostar TH67XE motherboard are headers
for the following: Front panel audio, SPDIF out and three USB 2.0 brackets. There's
not lot of connectivity going on here, pretty much just the basics
supplied by the Intel H67 chipset.
Next to the front panel IO headers are two 6Gb/s SATA III
ports (white) and three 3Gb/s SATA II jacks (red). An additional eSATA port
is located at the rear I/O. RAID 0/1/5/10 can be configured across any of these
ports.

The Intel H67 Express chipset is cooled with a very
small passive aluminum heatsink. The motherboard gallery continues on the next
page of this PCSTATS motherboard review. Remember, you can give Feedback to
