We tested the HP Pavilion laptop utilizing SiSoft's Sandra 2000 Professional to get synthetic specific subsystem benchmark performance, and then we utilized Id's Quake III demo to get some type of real world overall performance. Remember, we were not able to get Ziff Davis Content Creation 2000 benchmark to complete an entire run, so Quake III was the best we could come up with. We setup Quake III demo in the fastest setting possible. This way, we took the majority of the stress off the video card in order to look at the system performance overall without concentrating on the video too much.
We compared the laptop against a similarly equipped desktop system in order to get some type of reference.
