Super Pi times are a bit lower than we expected, again
we have to remember that we're dealing with a beta motherboard, not a retail
sample.
The
latest version of the popular PCMark series, PCMark04 is an application-based
benchmark and a premium tool for measuring overall PC performance. It uses
portions of real applications instead of including whole applications or using
specifically created code. This allows PCMark04 to maintain a smaller
installation size while still giving accurate results.

Things do not go well for the VIA PT894 Reference
motherboard here and it lags behind quite badly in the memory portion of this
test.
By
combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, 3DMark 2001 SE
continues to provide a good overall system benchmark. 3DMark2001 SE was created
in co-operation with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to
provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming
performance by using real-world gaming technology to test a system's true
abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point
Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene
Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests using Ipion real-time
physics. Higher 3DMark scores denote better performance.

The VIA PT894 comes in last in 3DMark, but that score is
still pretty good!
