A few short months ago came the introduction of VIA's KT133 chipset. Though the chipset itself has remained pretty much constant (aside from a minor Southbridge revision), host motherboards have been going through good deal of change in a relatively short amount of time. Current generation motherboards now include multiplier adjustments, ATA/100 support and more recently, some form of Voice Diagnosis a feature that is catching on rather quickly.

Quake 3
The AZ11E stays up there in Quake 3 Arena scores. Frankly, scores from
all motherboards are quite indicative of the KT133's maturity with just around 4
FPS between the fastest and the "slowest" performer.

The first impression with regard to AC97 audio among enthusiasts
seems to always be in the negative. Though I have listened to really good ones
in the past, I am afraid that FIC's AZ11E could be among the worst. Plenty of
distortion could be heard and aside from bad sound quality, I found it to be
rather unreliable. In my experience with it, I would find audio (bad enough as
it is) suddenly turn into undecipherable noise.
Perhaps this occurence
is only with our particular test sample, and not a problem that has become
widespread. I have spoken to various AZ11E owners and none of them report the same problem.
