The first thing on our minds about the CM810 is the rather low-tech OSD and menu controls. The method Hitachi applied to this display just seems somewhat out of date compared to what we have been seeing lately in other displays. Granted it's a part of the display you are likely to see only very rarely, but a little more effort could have been spent in this area.
When the CM810 is set to its best resolution of 1600x1200
the effect is simply stunning, the image is clear and the colours very vibrant.
We did notice some halo effects on the lower resolutions, but these were mostly
only evident on grey backgrounds.
Sporting some very high refresh rates and a simply mammoth
display screen the CM810 is a large 21" display with the
footprint of a 19" monitor. The button oriented display controls give
the user a concise level of control over the aspects of their display and
the display simply brilliant. With a relatively low price point of about
$690USD the Hitachi CM810 is an excellent display with very few flaws
that offers dual video inputs and excellent colour
replication.
For those of you in need of a display larger than a 19", do
yourself a favor and take a good long look at the
CM810.
