Settings
By now we all
know that an LCD has to be operated at its set resolution if
you are to take full advantage of the technology. If the resolution
is set lower than the maximum, the text and lines will
appear slightly fuzzy.
Since the 240T is wider than most large displays,
even 21" CRT's, it should be used with a good quality video card that can
supports its native 1920x1200 setting. If you intend on using the 240T to watch
DVD's, or other video applications the resolution settings are much more
forgiving. However, even at 1600x1200 it is difficult to tell there is any
dithering taking place. At 1280x1024 text is really large, but the dithering
algorithm works very well - all images remain consistent and even. The full list
of resolution settings is listed on the next page, but first lets go through the
advanced on screen menu system.
The OSD is similar to ones used on some of Samsung's other multimedia
displays and works very well.
