Content Creation Winstone 2002 is a system-level,
application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall
performance when running top, Windows-based, 32-bit, content
creation applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows
XP.
Business Winstone 2002 is a system-level,
application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when
running today's top-selling Windows-based 32-bit applications on Windows 98,
Windows 2000 (SP6 or later), Windows Me, or Windows XP. Business
Winstone doesn't mimic what these packages do; it runs real applications through
a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete those
activities to produce its performance scores.
Winstone
2002 backs up what SysMark2002 says. In Content Creation the motherboards
perform close to each other but when we run Business Winstone, we see that data
priority really does help speed up things!
WinBench 99 is a
subsystem-level benchmark that measures the performance of a PC's graphics,
disk, and video subsystems in a Windows environment. WinBench 99's tests can run
on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows Me
systems.
Yes, we
were just as shocked to see those high Disk benchmarks as well. With
HyperStreaming SiS touted the most efficient HDD subsystem and promised to cut
down transfer times. Just to make sure this wasn't a fluke, we ran the test 3
times and every run we got those impressive numbers.
