To access the Advanced Chipset Features, you must first press CTRL
+ F1. Once inside we see all the usual memory tweaks we'd expect from a
motherboard from CAS Latency to RAS Precharge time and RAS to CAS delay.
SiS based motherboards are usually not the best overclockers, but
the Gigabyte GA-8S655TX Ultra does allow up to 350 MHz FSB in 1 MHz increments.
There are a hole host of memory dividers but you'll probably only use the 1:1.
5:4 or 3:2 dividers. You can manually change the AGP 1 MHz at a time and the
maximum AGP voltage is 1.8V, DDR 2.6V and CPU 1.6V. Not exactly the enthusiast's
dream motherboard.
Still that didn't stop us from pushing the board to its maximum
speed!
Starting at 200
MHz FSB we began slowly to raised the clock speed of the motherboard. Unfortunately
our adventures didn't go very far and the motherboard maxed out at 210 MHz FSB even without any voltage
increases.
