* - hyperthreading was enabled and running for all
the tests.
** - i865pe boards were benchmarked before pat
enabled bios's were released!
SysMark2002 is more of an extension of SysMark2001
rather then a whole new benchmark. The applications used during
testing have been updated and most importantly for AMD users, the
new SysMark2002 uses the Windows Media Encoder 7.1 which supports the AthlonXP's
SSE instructions.
The
Gigabyte GA-8S655TX Ultra starts off pretty well here. It beats both the i875P
based Gigabyte GA-8KNXP and the Asus P4C800-DLX as well as surpassing the
reference SiS 655FX
motherboard!

Content Creation Winstone 2002 is a system-level,
application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when
running top, Windows-based, 32-bit, content creation applications on
Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows
XP.
Business Winstone 2002 is a system-level,
application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when
running today's top-selling Windows-based 32-bit applications on
Windows 98, Windows 2000 (SP6 or later), Windows Me, or Windows XP.
Business Winstone doesn't mimic what these packages do; it runs
real applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC
takes to complete those activities to produce its performance scores.
The trend
continues here in the Winstone 2002 benchmarks. It should be pretty evident that
SiS based motherboards are the real deal.
