Benchmarks: 3DMark2001, CodeCreatures
By
combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, it continues to provide
good overall system benchmarks. 3DMark2001SE has been created in cooperation
with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide a reliable
set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using
real-world gaming technology to test a system's true performance abilities.
Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3
and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and
Texture Compression and two game tests using Ipion real-time physics.
Higher
numbers denote better performance.
At stock
speed the MSI
FX5700 Ultra-TD128 performs exactly as we expect it to, plus, it's also a hair
faster than the Asus Radeon 9600XT.
CodeCretures requires a fully compatible DirectX 8
videocard with preferably 128 MB of RAM to store textures. Codecreatures
utilizes vertex as well as pixel shaders to run their tests.
In the CodeCreatures benchmark we see that the MSI card performs on par
with the other GeForceFX 5700 Ultra based videocards.
At
1600x1200 all cards start to slow down, but the GeForceFX 5700 Ultra cards are
still faster than the Radeon 9600XT!
