By combining DirectX8 support with completely new
graphics, 3DMark2001 SE continues to provide good overall system benchmarks.
3DMark2001SE has been created in cooperation with the major 3D accelerator and
processor manufacturers to provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite
demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using real-world gaming technology to test
a system's true performance abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders,
Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping,
support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests
using real-time physics.

The Albatron Trinity GeForce 6600GT AGP does pretty well
here in 3DMark2001 and is only slightly slower than the PCI Express GF6600GT.
Overclocking does not boost performance much.
3DMark05 is
the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking series.
It is the first benchmark to require DirectX®9.0 compliant hardware with support
for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher!

It's quite
surprising to see that the regular GeForce 6600 is so much slower than the GT
models. The Albatron Trinity GeForce 6600GT AGP scores around the same as the
other two 6600GT cards, which is well. Overclocking really helps here, perhaps
indicating that the gap between the regular 6600 and the GT cards in this
benchmark is mostly due to clock speed.
