Because of different displacement algorithms
and continuous improvements of the renderer, Maya 3 and its corresponding batch
renderer is absolutely required. The Test Scene is fairly processor-intensive
and can take anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes to render depending on your system
specifications. Rendering produces 1 frame (512x512pixels).

If you intend to work with 3D rendering software like
Maya, the Canada Computers Content Creator X2 certainly has plenty of power.
Most professional 3D programs are SMP compatible, just be sure the feature is
enabled when you go to render a scene. Maya 4 does not appear to have any
preferences to whether a pure 32-bit operating system or 64-bit OS are
installed. At the very least, this means if you are running WindowsXP
Professional x64 Edition there won't be a performance penalty with this
program.
The DivX
encoder benchmark contains both a 32-bit and a 64-bit benchmark that measures
the performance of raw video encoding of the AMD optimized DivX video encoder
version 503.

In the DiVX Encoding tests we get a very slight
performance boost when running with a 64 bit OS but we get a very large boost
when running the 64 bit version of the program.

The
Mini-GZIP benchmark contains both 64-bit benchmark that measures the performance
of an AMD64 optimized version of ZLIB. It also contains a 32-bit benchmark
implemented with the standard (unmodified) ZLIB. Lower is better.

Like with DiVX encoding, Mini-Gzip gets a huge
performance boost when running the 64 bit software version but doesn't seem to
perform the data compression any faster than the Athlon64 4000+ we tested
earlier. This benchmark is obviously single threaded, something one should
consider when going dual core.
