We definitely can see the impact of L2 cache on the
ScienceMark 2.0 benchmarks. If you need to do some hard computing, you'll
definitely want to invest in a more powerful processor. Moving to a 64-bit
platform does not do much for 32 bit applications (as we all know already)
however jumping to 64 bit apps does give a significant performance boost and
brings the 2.0GHz AMD Sempron 3600+ performance closer to that of the other
processors.
