SiSoft Sandra's CPU tests illustrate the performance boost quad-core processors can attain in application performance when the program is able to make use of the additional raw computing cores. In these benchmarks the AMD Athlon II X4 620 doesn't suffer much for its lack L3 cache. SiSoft Sandra in Windows 7 shows a slight reduction in performance for the Athlon II X4 620 processor compared to the Windows Vista results. Although Intel's Core 2 Duo E8400 processor is clocked faster and has L3 cache, the two additional CPU cores on the AMD Athlon II X4 620 give it an edge.
