In this section we'll show you how to upgrade the hidden memory slot in a Fujitsu Lifebook P770 series sub-notebook. Let's Begin...

The P770 notebook has one "user serviceable memory slot" on the bottom of the computer. Two small phillips screws need to be removed, but that's easy. This is common to most notebooks and the path to upgrade this memory module is straightforward. Depending on how the notebook is configured, this slot may be populated with SODIMM DDR3 module, or it may be empty.

To get to the second SODIMM DDR3 slot the keyboard needs to carefully be removed.

To do this you'll need a thin piece of soft plastic, like an old credit card or thin plastic rule. Along the upper top of the keyboard is a chrome plated strip of thin plastic that locks in the keyboard. The first step is to carefully remove this bit of plastic without damaging anything.

If you're using an old credit card, cut it so there's a 90-degree corner to work with. The chrome plated strip of plastic is locked in place by small tabs, it needs to be slid to the right about 5mm to disengage the five or so tabs before it will lift out.

Carefully use the edge of the credit card to lift the right edge of the chrome plated plastic strip up just enough to clear the black plastic chassis surrounding the keyboard. Don't try and lift it out totally, this corner of plastic just needs to pop out slightly.

Next, slide the entire piece to the right about half a centimetre.

The tabs holding the chrome plated plastic strip in place will have disengaged and the strip can then be lifted out of the slot.
