Gun Metal
2 is one of the first games that will be taking advantage of DirectX 9 technology. According to Gun Metal 2, 2x AA is
enabled by default on all videocards and
the listed framerates are average.
Boy does
Gun Metal 2 love overclocked videocards! With the Apogee overclocked, it can
even best the ATi Radeon 9800XT and the GeForceFX 5950 Ultra
videocards!
We see the
same thing here at 1600x1200, simply amazing!
A
completely rewritten 3D engine based on DirectX8 encompasses many visual effects
such as volumetric Nebulae (gas clouds) that have a real impact in the game (you
can hide in them), many new engine, shield, weapon and explosion effects.
Objects cast real dynamic 3D shadows! Dynamic DP3 bump mapping allows a
previously unseen level of detail.
At stock
speeds the Chaintech Apogee AA5700U is still perfectly gamable, overclocking
does not boost performance all that much.
More of the
same here.
