Sandra is
designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system as well as the
individual components. The results are also purely theoretical and may not
represent real world performance.

Please note that the latest
version of SiSoft Sandra 2005 includes SSE3 support which is why there are no
FPU numbers in the CPU portion of the benchmark. Memory bandwidth from the AOpen
Mini PC is only around 100MB/s, that's lower than the Shuttle Pentium M system
which is a bit of a surprise.
SuperPI
calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching
benchmark. The program allows the user to change the number of digits of PI that
can be calculated from 16 thousand to 32 million. Our benchmark is set to 1
Million digits and 19 iterations.

Overall the AOpen Mini PC
MP915-B performs quite well and despite the lack of a dual channel memory
controller, is only two seconds slower than the Shuttle SFF in computing Pi to 1
million digits.
PCMark04 is
an application-based benchmark and a premium tool for measuring overall PC
performance. It uses portions of real applications instead of including whole
applications or using specifically created code. This allows PCMark04 to
maintain a smaller installation size while still giving accurate results.

The PCMark04 numbers are very
interesting, the AOpen Mini PC MP915-B is able to keep up with the Shuttle in
pretty much every area except HDD. No surprise there, the Shuttle is equipped
with a WD Raptor while the AOpen Mini PC uses a notebook hard drive.
