PCMark05 is
a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of
the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to
represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses
the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home usage.

PCMark04 and 05 numbers are
usually quite close, this time around they're very far apart. The Shuttle SFF PC
outperforms the AOpen quite substantially in the overall, CPU and HDD portions
of the test.
By
combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, 3DMark 2001 SE
continues to provide a good overall system benchmark. 3DMark2001 SE was created
in co-operation with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to
provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming
performance by using real-world gaming technology to test a system's true
abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point
Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene
Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests using Ipion real-time
physics. Higher 3DMark scores denote better performance.

The integrated Intel GMA900
videocard is not the greatest in terms of 3D performance, both computers score
in the region of 4000 3DMarks.
3DMark05 is
the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking series.
It is the first benchmark to require DirectX9.0 compliant hardware with support
for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher.

These 3DMark05 numbers would be
quite pitiful compared to a fully equipped desktop computer, however as far as
notebooks go they are in line with what the Intel GMA900 can muster. CPU scores
are decent with the AOpen Mini PC trailing the Shuttle by around 200
points.
