PCMark05 numbers show us that the MSI MEGA mPC 945 is
just as quick as the rest of the other boards when non-video intensive
applications are being used. It underscores a point that a lot of high end
gaming hardware is totally overkill for office PCs, particularly as some of
these motherboards are almost as expensive as the bare bones mPC 945 kit
itself.

The onboard Intel GMA950 videocard is able to complete
3DMark05, but the overall score is really quite bad. Let this be a lesson,
Intel's integrated videocard is good for office (or what we call 2D)
applications. It is not very good at all, and even painfully slow when it comes
to marginally intensive 3D games. Luckily for us, the MSI MEGA mPC 945 has a PCI
Express x16 slot into which we can install a standalone GeForce 7800GTX videocard. With that addition the mPC
945's benchmark performance rises to much more respectable levels.
