Abit KV8-Max
3: The board features a ducted cooling
area over the MOSFETs to help keep board temps down. Based on the VIA K8T800
chipset and 800MHz FSB, the Abit KV8-Max3 features AGP 8X/4X, SATA RAID 150,
IEEE1394 Firewire and USB2.0 in addition to Abit's OTES.... an a couple of
bright shinny red LED's that pepper the PCB. This is a Socket 754 Athlon64
motherboard.
Acorp 8A-1687: The ATX formfactor
Acorp 8A-1687 supports the socket 754 Athlon64 processor which runs on an 800MHz
FSB care of the ALI M1687 Northbridge and ALI 1563 Southbridge. The ALI M1687 is
essentially the native K8 AMD chipset manufactured under licence. The board
supports AGP8X, DDR533 memory, SATA, UDMA 133 IDE, and USB2.0. To lure in
consumers the 8A-1687 comes with a 6 channel AC'97 2.2 audio compatible
codec.
Albatron K8X800 ProII: The first
and only K8 motherboard from Albatron, the K8X800 ProII is based on the much
touted VIA K8T800 chipset and socket 754 Athlon64 platform. The board operates
at an 800MHz FSB, features the brand new VIA Envy 24PT with 8-channel audio,
gigabit ethernet, AGP8X, USB2.0, firewire, SPDIF in/out, and support for both
ATA133 and SATA RAID. As a bonus, the board also has a dual BIOS.
Of note on the K8X800 Pro II from Albatron is the
passive copper northbridge heatsink and of course that 8-channel audio
capability.
