Asus SK8V: Asus are one of the few
mainboard manufacturers to have socket 940 Athlon64 FX mainboards based on both
the VIA and nVidia nForce 3 chipsets. The Asus SK8V is based on the former, the
VIA K8T800 and VT8237 chipsets. The board is compatible with both socket 940
Athlon64 FX and Opteron processors, and supports dual channel DDR400, SATA
RAID, 10/1000 GbE LAN, AGP8X and IEEE Firewire.
Biostar K8VHA-Pro: Not content to just have ATX
solutions, Biostar have both microATX and full size ATX versions of the
K8VHA-Pro socket 754 Athlon64 motherboard. The K8VHA-Pro is built around the VIA
K8T800 and VT8237 chipsets, and along with SATA, GbE LAN, AGP8X, 6-channel
Audio, USB2.0, and firewire, features IDE RAID options.
Biostar K8VHA-M: Brother to the K8VHA-Pro,
the K8VHA-M is one of the few micro-ATX Athlon64 motherboards we have seen at
Computex. I'm not sure I agree with the rational that a microATX near
workstation class motherboard will meet sufficient demand, but never the less,
the option is there. The socket 754 K8VHA-M is built on the VIA K8T800
and VT8237 chipsets, and along with Serial ATA, 10/100 LAN, AGP8X,
6-channel Audio, USB2.0, and firewire, features support for dual channel DDR400 memory.
