3DMark05 is the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking series. It is the first benchmark to require DirectX9.0 compliant hardware with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher!

The Athlon64 X2 5000+ and Athlon64 FX-62 fit in right where we'd expect the processors to be. The socket AM2 Athlon64 X2 5000+ is only slightly slower than the socket 939 Athlon64 FX-60 chip, even though the latter has double the amount of L2 cache.
