Business Winstone 2002 is a system-level,
application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when
running today's top-selling Windows-based 32-bit applications on Windows 98,
Windows 2000 (SP6 or later), Windows Me, or Windows XP. Business Winstone
doesn't mimic what these packages do; it runs real applications through a series
of scripted activities and uses the time a PC takes to complete those activities
to produce its performance scores.
Content Creation Winstone 2002 is a system-level, application-based benchmark
that measures a PC's overall performance when running top, Windows-based,
32-bit, content creation applications on Windows 98, Windows 2000 , Windows Me,
or Windows XP.

There are more or less similar
results for all the Athlon 64 processors in these tests, which all outperform
the Intel Pentium 4 540. As seen in the Sysmark 2004 benchmark, you can only
boost Content Creation benchmarks so much with the CPU.

a complete system and individual components. The numbers taken though are again,
purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

This benchmark, though not
measuring any kind of real world performance, can give us an idea of how the two
competing chipsets for the Athlon 64 compare. Note that the nForce 3 platform
seems to get the best out of the 4000+ CPU, but lags behind in the memory
bandwidth tests. This could be what hurts it in some of the other benchmarks, as
we will see.
