MobileMark 2005 is BAPCo's latest revision of their
laptop battery testing suite. It tests battery life under a variety of
situations including DVD playback and wireless Internet usage. Battery life is
recorded in minutes for each test. *The DVD BatteryMark was conducted with the
screen at full brightness. **The wireless BatteryMark test was conducted with
the screen at default brightness

The Acer Ferrari 4005 WLMi showed unremarkable but
acceptable battery life. The laptop managed just over two hours of DVD playback
with the screen at full brightness, and a decent 2 hours and 48 minutes of
wireless usage with the screen at default brightness for battery power.

Business Winstone 2004 is a system-level,
application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when
running today's top-selling Windows-based 32-bit applications on Windows XP.
Business Winstone doesn't mimic what these packages do; it runs real
applications through a series of scripted activities and uses the time a PC
takes to complete those activities to produce its performance scores.
Content Creation Winstone 2004 is a system-level,
application-based benchmark that measures a PC's overall performance when
running top, Windows-based, 32-bit, content creation applications on Windows
XP.

The Acer Ferrari 4005 WLMi obviously benefits from its
faster 5400 RPM hard drive. Surprisingly, the Centrino-based Gigabyte n512
notebook managed to best the faster Ferrari on one of the 2D benchmarks
here.
