Again, these test results for Mini-Gzip are with the
Intel Pentium D 940 running in 64-bit mode in 64-bit Windows XP. The CPU
completes the Mini-GZIP tests over a second faster than the Pentium D 840 model,
and at its best comes quite close to 64-bit Athlon64 territory. If anything is
clear from these benchmarks it is that running 64 bit software does make a large
difference.

Even though the DiVX encoder is optimized for 64-bit AMD
systems, the 64-bit Intel Pentium D 940 does pretty well for itself. The chip is
within a second or two of the high end Athlon64 FX-62 processor.
