Step Four: Disassembling the Notebook Pg 3

Also, take a photo of each corner of the screen showing the wire paths before any cables or wires are moved. The wires fit in the narrow confines of the screen bezel only one way, the photo you take will ensure you put things back the correct way.

Mark the screw hole with a dot, remove the screw and place it in the screw box so it doesn't get lost or accidentally brushed off the table top.

A bit of foam makes a convenient way to keep different screws types grouped together.

Here we find a small circuit from the panel close sensor that needs to be removed from the metal frame before the screen assembly can be taken out. We document the location and wire path with a quick photo then unstick it from the tab.

Mark the screw hole, remove the screw. It's a pretty simple process, but one that requires a bit of forethought.

After the fourth metal frame screw is removed, the panel is freed from the rear plastic bezel.

In the case of the Lenovo T530 ThinkPad PCSTATS is repairing here, the metal screen support frame is still attached to the hinges - it's important to support the rear plastic bezel after the last screw is removed so it doesn't drop and yank out cables.
