CINEBENCH
2003 is the free benchmarking tool for Windows and Mac OS based on the powerful
3D software CINEMA 4D RX. The tool is set to deliver accurate benchmarks by
testing not only a computer's raw processing speed but also all other areas that
affect system performance such as OpenGL, multi threading, and multiprocessors.
This version runs on 64-bit operating systems and processors only.
Higher scores are better.

The 64-bit version of Cinebench 2003 is a direct clash
between our two newest CPUs. The Athlon64 X2 4800+ again comes out on top by an
average of ~20%, but both CPUs post impressive results.

This
rendering speed test for Maya 4 measures the time needed to render a single 3D
scene with various lighting effects. The benchmark can use single or multiple
processors and runs on both 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows.
Scores are measured in seconds; lower times are
better.

The Maya Rendertest supports either single or dual
processors, allowing us to test the difference between the modes with a pair of
dual-core CPUs. Moving to dual-core operation dropped the Intel Pentium D 840's
render time considerably as it completed the benchmark in only 65% of the time
required for the single-core test. Overclocking the processor also made a huge
impact. 64-bit operation made no difference to the benchmark scores.
The Athlon64 X2 4800+ bested the
Intel Pentium D 840 by 12-15 seconds in both tests, though the Intel processor
was much more competitive when overclocked.
