Mol Dyn:
Molecular Dynamics is a method for simulating the thermodynamic behaviour of
materials using their forces, velocities, and positions. Most important of the
afore mentioned is the force. Primordia: This code calculates the Quantum
Mechanical Hartree-Fock Orbital for each electron in any element of the periodic
table.
Scores are
measured in seconds; lower times indicate better results.

The
Sciencemark 2.0 benchmark obviously gains no advantage from 64-bit operation.
The dual-core Intel Pentium D 840 posts noticeably better results than the
Pentium 4 540, especially when overclocked. At stock it lags behind both the
single and dual-core AMD processors in this benchmark though.

Our second pure 64-bit benchmark sees the Athlon64 X2
4800+ considerably ahead of the Intel Pentium D 840 in the Mol Dyn test, but the
Intel processor posts a much improved result in the Primordia test. Both scores
are outstanding, showing the power of the new dual-core, 64-bit processors as
they tear through the benchmarks in half or a quarter of the time taken in
32-bit mode.
