Unreal
Tournament 2004 is the sequel to the highly popular UT2003 and uses the very
latest Unreal Engine technology. Unreal Tournament 2004 employs the use of
Vertex and Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 9 videocard
if you plan to play with all the bells and whistles enabled. Higher numbers are
better.

UT2004 is a bandwidth-hungry benchmark, and it exposes
our Intel dual-core test platform's weaknesses again. Interestingly, this
benchmark benefited noticeably from running under 64-bit Windows. The Athlon64
X2 4800+ had some issues with UT2004 in 32-bit mode.
Doom 3 is
the most advanced OpenGL game to date, it takes advantage of the latest
videocard technology and pushes the processing power of the CPU to its absolute
limits. At its highest setting Ultra quality, texture sizes pass the 500MB mark
which means even tomorrows videocards will have a hard time running everything.
The framerates in the game itself are locked at 60 fps so anything above that point is
wasted. Each test is run three times and with the third run being recorded.
Higher numbers are better.

Doom3 also benefits greatly from 64-bit Windows XP when
running on the Intel Pentium D 840. This is good news for gamers, especially as
64-bit video drivers can only get better with time. The Pentium D 840 derives
little benefit from dual-core here, though it does manage to best the Pentium 4
540 by about 3FPS. The AMD dual-core processor holds the same advantage over the
Pentium D that its single-core bretheren hold over the Pentium 4 processors in
Doom 3.
